Supreme People’s Court Judges from China meet Chief Justice Jane Restani of the Court of International Trade

The Supreme People’s Court (SPC) is the highest judicial organ in China and is responsible for the National Congress and its Standing Committee. It exercises the highest judicial right independently by law, without any interruption by administrative organs, social organizations or individuals.

On November 26, 2003 a delegation of SPC judges arrived from China. After a tour of our office the delegation headed down to the Court of International Trade, accompanied by an interpreter from our firm. This trip turned out to be an extremely educational and fruitful meeting with Chief Judge Jane Restani, Judge Donald Pogue, Judge Gregory W. Carman, Judge Timothy Stanceu and Senior Judge Nicholas Tsoucalas. There were a lot of valuable ideas and thoughts that were exchanged between both parties with respect to the Court System in the US and in China.

The delegation was extremely grateful for the contributions of their honors and for the hospitality of the staff at the Court of International Trade.
