December 2005 – Matthew Gruskin, senior counsel, recently lectured for Cape School, which provides continuing legal education in New York and Pennsylvania, as well as professional education courses in insurance and real estate in various jurisdictions. The title of the course was CAN YOU TRUST YOUR BANK? The course covered such issues as identity theft, federal and state legislation regarding information collected by financial instructions and mandated disclosure of such information, sometimes with, and sometimes without, the customer's knowledge or consent. Mr. Gruskin’s lecture also discussed specific provisions of legislation including The Patriot Act, The Bank Secrecy Act, and the roles played by various regulatory agencies as well as the history of bank-customer confidentiality.
