CHINA CONSTRUCTION RAISED $7.3 BILLION THROUGH WORLD'S LARGEST IPO OF 2009


July 2009 – Already the world’s largest construction company, China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited (CSCEC) went “public” through an initial public offering (IPO) of A-shares in Shanghai Stock Exchange on July 29, 2009. The IPO raised $7.3 billion U.S. Dollars, making it the world’s largest initial public offering since March, 2008. Following the IPO, CSCEC is expected to increase its market presence in real estate development. The plan is likely to be carried out by China Overseas Holding, Ltd. and China Construction Co, Ltd., both are large real estate holding companies and subsidiaries of CSCEC.

In late 2007, DeHeng Chen, LLC was retained by CSCEC to conduct due diligence on its U.S. subsidiaries. DeHeng Chen, LLC later issued its legal opinion for the foregoing IPO.
