December 2009 – Xiaomin Chen, General Counsel of US-China Business Promotion Council (“UCBPC”) coordinated an eight-day trip (from December 5 through 12) in China for members of UCBPC. The delegation was invited by Western Returned Scholars Association Entrepreneur Alliance to attend the Eighth (8th) Overseas Investment Strategy Forum for Chinese Enterprises (the “Forum”) wherein three delegates of UCBPC, i.e., Peter Powers, Chair of the Advisory Board of UCBPC, Xiaomin Chen and Andreas Calianos, Managing Director of Commonfund delivered speeches.
The delegation visited several major cities in China. In Beijing, the delegation visited China Urban Realty Association (“CURA”), and met with Mr. Daniel Yin, Managing Director of CBRE, Mr. Zhiqiang Ren, President of Huayuan Group, Mr. Yong Zhao, President of FuWah International Estate Co., Ltd, Mr. Li Xu, CEO of Beijing Vantone, Mr. Lin Lu and other members of CURA. The Delegation further convened with Mr. Mengfu Huang, President of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Ms. Meisheng Nie, President of China Real Estate Chamber of Commerce. In Hangzhou, the delegation met with Mr. Wei Huang and Ms. Lihua Zhou, members of the management of Zhejiang Sinhoo Group (“ZSG”) and visited Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Association and Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. In Shanghai, the last stop of the trip, the delegation dropped by at CURA Fund and convened with Mr. Qingzhi Zhou and Mr. Lin Xu, Chairman and CEO of CURA Fund, respectively. The delegation also made trips to Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce and Shanghai Bureau of Commerce.
The first overseas trip of UCBPC lived up to its purpose in promoting the common interests of Chinese and U.S. investors.
