DEHENG CHEN ANNOUNCES TWO NEW PARTNERS


April 2010 - International law firm DeHeng Chen takes pleasure in announcing that Peter Guang Chen and David D. Lin have become partners of the firm.

Peter is an expert in international tax planning and tax controversy representation. He is experienced in advising multinational corporations on their inbound and outbound transactions. In particular, Peter specializes in advising companies with operations in China on various China and U.S. tax, regulatory and business issues, assisting in the structuring of mergers, acquisitions and the reorganizations of multinationals in the greater China region. He has extensive experience in assisting Chinese companies with investment and operations in the U.S. In addition, Peter has significant experience and expertise in assisting high net worth individuals in their planning for tax minimization, asset protection and trusts/estates matter. Prior to joining DeHeng Chen, Peter was the Regional Tax Leader / Partner in the International Tax Group in the New York office of Deloitte & Touche / Deloitte Tax LLP and also headed the U.S. China Desk, part of the ICE (International Core of Excellence). Peter is the co-author of the leading treatise on Chinese tax (China Taxation: Law, Practice & Planning, published by Thomson Reuters | Sweet & Maxwell HK, 2005, updated October 2009). Peter received a B.S. in Accounting and Economics and a MBA in Taxation from New York University; Juris Doctor (JD) from Fordham University Law School; and Master of Law (LLM) in Taxation from New York University Law School. Peter is now the head of our International Tax Planning Group.

David joined DeHeng Chen in March 2009. He has a diversified practice litigating on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants in complex civil and criminal matters. He has experience on a variety cases including commercial disputes, internal company investigations, white collar criminal defense, and regulatory inquiries. Prior to joining DeHeng Chen, he was an associate in the New York office of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, LLP, where he practiced complex commercial litigation. David received a B.A. from Oberlin College and Juris Doctor (JD) from the George Washington University Law School where he was the Managing Editor of the George Washington Law Review. David is now the head of our Litigation Group.
