AGRICULTRUAL BANK OF CHINA’S IPO TO SCORE RECORD HIGH


July 2010 – Agricultural Bank of China (“AgBank”), the last of China’s “big four” state-owned commercial banks, was listed successfully at Shanghai stock market on July 15, 2010 and Hong Kong on July 16, 2010. It sold 22.2 billion shares in Shanghai stock market and 25.4 billion in Hong Kong, having raised a total $19.2 billion U.S. Dollars. According to the IPO prospectus, AgBank is expected to raise $22.1 billion when an overallotment option is exercised by August 5, 2010. If so, the current IPO shall surpass the $21.9 billion record set by Industrial & Commercial Bank of China in 2006.
